Attrition - a cause to worry
Attrition is a real challenge in running the company. Many people join BPO companies and after getting some experience they fly off from there to some other company in the hope of getting better prospect. There is no harm in it as it is everyone's wish to lead a prosperous life and all their actions are bound to be with this thought. Even the person who runs the company will always be in the look out for more profit than to be contend with what he achieved so far. This will naturally put all of us in the track of growth. But some companies deploy some plot to attract experienced people from reputed organizations. Some are smart enough to understand such tactics and they stick to their parent company but some fall as victims. They will realize only when they move out of the company.  As the saying goes "look before you leap", associates need to be very careful before they actually quit the company.
I have seen so many people landing up in trouble after resigning their jobs in the hope of getting a better position. They realize very late but then they cannot resurrect their mistakes. As far as career growth is concerned it is not advisable to shift from one company to other very often. This will result in a bad impression on that person. Also, from the company's point of view it is always good to retain the experienced people in the organization. Company should try to develop value based relationship with the associates instead of just having a business relationship. It should extend all their help and support to the associates so that the associates feel that they are not alien to the company and also they try to stick to all conditions. This will certainly reduce the percentage of attrition to an higher rate.

We can't just consider one factor alone for attrition and what all we discussed so far is just one side of the coin. There is another side which mainly deals with the environment the associates are moving with. I, personally feel that it is in the hands of the immediate supervisor, the responsibility of creating the best atmosphere, lies. If the immediate supervisor is not acting matured enough,  narrow-minded, who has not learnt the art of toleration, who is very hot tempered and gets angry for each and everything, who is revengeful in his/her action and who is having a pestering kind of character, will create a bad kind of environment to live in. Most of the people will try to move out of him/her. They are not against the company but against one individual and this will also result in attrition. It is the duty of the top management to keep a tab on their subordinates to know how efficient and how sensible they are in action. In big companies it would be little difficult to monitor each and every team leaders but they have to, as that is the only way to correct the mistakes and provide the best environment to work in. Also periodically it would be good if they take the employee satisfaction survey in order to find out any grievances the employees have.
